RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA (27 September 2025) – Following tonight’s explosive Semifinals matchups at The Arena, the best fighters in the Middle East have locked up their spots in the 2025 PFL MENA Finals. Top contenders in the Bantamweight, Featherweight, Lightweight, and Welterweight divisions are now one win away from capturing PFL MENA Championships.
In the Main Event, Kuwait’s Mohammad Alaqraa (9-1) needed just 21 seconds to finish off Ayman Galal (4-2) of Egypt by TKO and punch his ticket back to the PFL MENA Welterweight Finals. Alaqraa, the runner-up of last season's PFL MENA Welterweight Tournament, landed a brutal leg kick that put Galal down for good in the opening moments of the fight. Alaqraa will face Badreddine Diani (10-3), who kicked things off with a split decision win over Amir Fazli (7-4) in the opening bout of the card.
In the Lightweight Semifinal co-main event, Mohammad Fahmi (6-0) of Iraq kept his undefeated record intact and clinched a spot in the PFL MENA Finals with a first-round submission win over Iran’s Mohsen Mohammadseifi (8-3). Fahmi took the fight to the ground early, and from there imposed his will on Mohammadseifi, taking the back and eventually locking in a rear naked choke for the tap at the 4:25 mark. Fahmi will now take on fellow undefeated contender Salah Eddine Hamli (10-0), who earlier in the card scored his own submission win against Souhil Tairi (8-7), for the PFL MENA Lightweight Championship.
Saudi Arabia’s own Malik Basahel (2-0) thrilled the crowd in Riyadh, as notched his second professional win with a second-round submission of Egypt’s Ahmed Mostafa (3-2). After an action-packed opening round, Basahel was able to take Mostafa’s back in the second round and lock in the rear naked choke for the submission victory.
Islam Youssef (7-2) of Egypt secured his spot in the PFL MENA Bantamweight Finals with a unanimous decision win over Moroccan Xavier Alaoui (16-7). While it was largely a back-and-forth affair, Youssef appeared to be one step ahead all fight long, and a strong third round sealed the deal as he clinched the decision win. Youssef will meet Nawras Abzakh (14-6), who authored his own unanimous decision victory against Mokhtar Benkaci (25-10) in the first Bantamweight Semifinal matchup of the night.
In a Featherweight Semifinals matchup, Egypt’s Islam Reda (14-1) dominated Morocco’s Taha Bendaoud (5-1) en route to a unanimous decision victory. After getting taken down early in the fight, Reda regained control and never let up as he kept Bendaoud grounded for nearly the entirety of the 15-minute contest. With the win, Reda sets up a PFL MENA Finals matchup against Yanis Ghemmouri (13-3), who defeated Izzeddine Al Derbani (15-6) by unanimous decision earlier in the night.
This year’s thrilling PFL MENA Season reaches its climax at the PFL MENA Finals, which takes place live from the beautiful city of Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, on Friday, December 5th.
It was also announced that Saudi Arabian women’s MMA star Hattan Alsaif will finally make her professional debut at the PFL MENA Finals. Alsaif made history last year by becoming the first woman from Saudi Arabia to sign with a major MMA promotion. In four amateur bouts under the PFL banner, Alsaif has gone 4-0, with all her wins coming by stoppage.
