Nkosi Ndebele kicks his way to a second-round knockout and PFL Africa Tournament Championship

Nkosi Ndebele began his martial arts training with karate before transitioning to MMA. Ndebele is a former regional bantamweight champion who had a trilogy with Jose Torres. At 10-3, Ndebele reached tonight’s final with victories over Mahmoud Atef and Simbarashe Hokonya. Boule Godogo is a striking and judo specialist, a judo black belt, who was 5-1 as an amateur, picking up an amateur featherweight title along the way. His July PFL Africa debut was his first MMA fight since April 2022. Godogo was victorious over Shannon Van Tonder in July but lost in highlight fashion to Karim Henniene in October – but a second chance gives him the opportunity to earn a PFL Africa tournament title again.

Who will be the 2025 PFL Africa Bantamweight Tournament Champion?

Round 1

The two go to the center. Front kick by Ndebele to start. Strong straight by Ndebele. Low kick by Ndebele. Head kick almost lands for Ndebele! Front kick by Ndebele. Right hand by Ndebele. A high kick from Ndebele is blocked by Godogo, but Ndebele presses him to the fence and scores the takedown. Ndebele with some shots up top. Ndebele lands a few knees to the ribs. And a couple of more for good measures. That seems to be his main method of attack here.

Godogo tries to get up, but Ndebele gets the mat return. Godogo appears to be cut around one of his cheeks. Ndebele works his way into back control. Ndebele trying to get a body triangle in. Ndebele is now trying to work his way into full mount in the final minute of this round. Ndebele lands shots to the body as he tries to get away from Godogo’s guard. Right hand by Ndebele. Strong elbow by Ndebele.

Round 2

Front kick by Ndebele, but Godogo counters by trying to go for a takedown. Ndebele defends and we’ve got a clinch battle. Godogo with a judo throw! But Ndebele is able to get back up right away! Kick by Ndebele…it’s a liver kick! Godogo on the delayed reaction goes down and he’s DONE!!!
