A former IBJJF National Jiu-Jitsu Champion, the grappling of Mohammad Alaqraa has been his key to success in his MMA career thus far. Alaqraa is unbeaten at 7-0 with three finishes. The American Kickboxing Academy product reaches tonight’s final with wins over Youcef Ouabbas and Amir Fazli.

 

An 18-fight veteran known for his boxing, Omar El Dafrawy has turned his career around with a six-fight win streak he is currently sporting. El Dafrawy, a former regional welterweight champion, is also known for his durability, resiliency, and finishing power. Wins over Anthony Zeidan and Jarrah Al-Silawi have now brought him one fight away from claiming PFL MENA gold.

Round 1

 

Alaqraa with a low kick, to which El Dafrawy responds. Alaqraa with a strong shot to the body. El Dafrawy with a pair of low kicks. Alaqraa brings El Dafrawy to the fence with an underhook. Alaqraa scores a takedown. He goes for another, but El Dafrawy gets away. Alaqraa appears to be in control of the clinch, but El Dafrawy trying to press him into the fence. El Dafrawy with a pair of knees and time is called for a low blow. Low kick from El Dafrawy. The two swing away. Dirty boxing in the clinch from both men. Long left hand from El Dafrawy. Low kick from Alqaraa. Front kick by El Dafrawy. Alaqraa initiates another clinches and brings El Dafrawy to the fence.

 

Alaqraa landing left hands before getting to El Dafrawy’s back in a standing position. Alaqraa tries to get the inside hook in. He can’t get it, but he does get El Dafrawy back to the ground briefly. Alaqraa gets a leg in to create a hook. He gets another takedown and gets to El Dafrawy’s back, the two of them seated. Alaqraa looking for the choke, but El Dafrawy does a good job fighting the hands to prevent it.

El Dafrawy trying to bring a kick-based attack to start, flashing the high kick and landing the low. Alaqraa with a couple of low kicks and a knee. Alaqraa using the jab to bring El Dafrawy back to the fence. Alaqraa with a solid cup check, resulting in another time out. Upon resumption of the fight, El Dafrawy lands a long left jab. El Dafrawy lands a front kick. He goes for a side kick, which Alaqraa catches. Alaqraa comes in and El Dafrawy lands a short left hand. El Dafrawy with follow-up hammer shots, and Alaqraa IS OUT!
