The First Round of the inaugural PFL Africa season continues in Johannesburg, with Featherweights and Welterweights seeing action

Patrick Ocheme faces Mohamed Camara in the Featherweight First Round Main Event

PFL Africa: Johannesburg will air live on August 9th on SuperSport and Canal+ in Africa starting at 6:00 PM SAST, and on the PFL App in the United States starting at 12:00 PM ET

 

 

JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA (8 August, 2025) –  Following tonight’s official weigh-ins, the First Round of the 2025 PFL Africa tournaments continue tomorrow night at the Big Top Arena in Carnival City, Johannesburg, South Africa. This time around, the best Featherweights and Welterweights in Africa head to the PFL SmartCage looking to move one step closer to becoming PFL Africa Champion.

In the main event, Featherweight stars go head-to-head, as Patrick “Starboi” Ocheme (6-1) of Nigeria takes on Mohamed “Lamo Mohamed” Camara (5-2-1) of Guinea. Ocheme weighed in at 144.6 pounds, while Camara weighed in at 145.6 pounds for their First Round contest.

Welterweight contenders face off in the co-main event, with Angola’s Shido Boris “Machine” Esperanca (9-1) going up against Ibrahima “Freezer” Mané (14-5) of Gambia. Esperanca and Mané both weighed in at 170.6 pounds.

*Initially scheduled to be a Featherweight First Round Bout, but was changed to a Catchweight Showcase Bout after both fighters missed weight. Sankara vs. Yemba will now be a First Round Tournament Bout.
